La Terrasse!

I just have to say to the world, my roomie rocks my socks! She puts up with me and my "quirks" ... my depression, anxiety, mild agoraphobia, when I get dizzy, have a drop attack, fall into something head first ending up with a concussion and going to ER, etc.

Tonight, after (another!) stressful day at work and though it's bitterly cold and she's fighting off getting sick, meaning curling up on the sofa with a blanket, pillows and the kitties probably sounded like heaven, she took me to a fab dinner at La Terrasse. Why? My birthday's Saturday (oh, joy) and she wanted to go to celebrate before we get hit with the snow tomorrow.

She had french onion soup and duck with a fancy sort of stuffing that had foi gras, which looked delicious (I don't eat any poultry so I didn't try it), and I had a jazzed up caesar salad (truffles in the dressing, yummmm) and skate with a seafood crepe. I'd never had skate before. It's a bit like flounder, if flounder had more flavor (if that makes any sense). It was soooooo good I wanted to lick the plate! We only had one glass of wine each (a very nice Pinot Grigiot {sp} - it's late, ok?!). Oh, and they have great coffee, they put a little cinnamon in it and serve it in huge cappucino-type cups. Perfect to wrap your hands around on a cold night. No dessert, which I am extremely proud of myself for, being a severe chocoholic/sweets freak.

It's not a restaurant for a vegetarian, I will say that. The only meat I eat are hamburgers, but I do love seafood. Whoever they have in the kitchen really knows how to prepare it!

I actually put on make-up and a dress (long of course) so I'd look more human and not scare people. Karen looked her usual beautiful self :)

Thanks!
